Astra Plane is a collection born from the need to create without restrictions, the same way I did as a child. Each image portrays a story that continues being told in the next image and is a collection of memories, influences, studies & everything that has transformed me over the past 36 years. This is an ongoing body of work.

The astral plane is considered to be where the consciousness goes after physical death. 'According to the spiritist doctrine, the spirit, after the death of the body, has more expanded perceptions than when it is bound to physical matter.’
A1: 'The Birth' part of the collection Astra Plane | 18 x 15 cm | watercolour and ink on paper | 2022
This image was created in March 2022 after a long period that I was struggling to make art. I felt constantly constrained and unable to allow myself to create without planing or overthinking. When the idea for this collection came to me it was so organic and I knew that the only thing I had to do was allow my 'it' to present itself to me. Just like it used to do when I was a child sitting in the kitchen drawing until late at night. To read more about this drawing, please check here.
A2: 'Eu te amo catioro' part of the col|ection Astra Plane | 18 x 15 cm | watercolour and ink on paper | 2022
This work is inspired in Pipi, a caramel dog that has become practically a celebrity in Brazil. Catioro is slang for dog, being originated from the word cachorro. Despite his happy semblance, we have a huge problem in our country with animals that are abandoned and as a child I rescued many animals from the street. To read more about this drawing, please check here.

Cozomo in Paradise | 2022 | ink on paper | 19.5 x 30 cm
Inspired in the painting Portrait of Cosimo the Elder 1(519–1520) an oil painting by Pontormo. Cosimo was the founder of the House of Medici, and died over fifty years earlier by the time this painting was commissioned. I decided to use this famous portrait of Cosimo for a clear reference to Cozomo de’ Medici as this piece is a celebration of his life and his crucial role as a mecenas within the NFT scene.
Cozomo appears, peacefully, resting in his throne while he is holding a rare early 20th century Steiff teddy bear in his hands. The toy in this case, represents the bear market we are currently facing in the crypto world. This iconic German-made toy is inspired by has been sold at auction in Thornaby for £3,200 last year. To read more about this drawing, please check here.
The overall idea for this work was to allude to the wisdom required to navigate a bearish market without losing sight of why we are here in the first place. As well as making reference to the Art Market world and its inconstant movement, just like a peaceful sea that in seconds reconfigures itself and bring the storm, the waves and chaos.

We must be strong to navigate this space.
OYXABATEN Y O GRITO DA NATUREZA | ink and acrylic on paper | 2022
The inspiration behind this artwork is the rich nature of Brazil and of our people. This drawing is a celebration of the vast and complex indigenous culture across the Americas and their influence in the formation of ourselves.

In this piece we see the traditional pattern used in body paintings by the Oyxabaten people in the skyline. This is an intricate artwork and like our culture that is formed by many others, making Brazil a rich and varied land.
